As part of the Le Bourget 2019 aerospace show, Dmitry Loskutov, CEO of Glavkosmos (a subsidiary of Roscosmos), spoke about plans to launch OneWeb system satellites from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana as part of the Le Bourget XNUMX aerospace show, TASS reports.

The OneWeb project, we recall, involves the formation of a global satellite infrastructure to provide broadband Internet access around the world. To do this, hundreds of small vehicles will be launched into space.

The first launch of the OneWeb program was successful implemented in February this year. Then the carrier rocket "Soyuz-ST-B", launched from the Kourou cosmodrome, launched six OneWeb satellites into space.

Two launches of OneWeb satellites on Soyuz rockets from the Kourou cosmodrome are now reportedly scheduled for 2020.

In addition, as noted, next year, a launch will be carried out from the Kourou cosmodrome under the contract of Roscosmos and Arianespace: this launch provides for the withdrawal of a European payload, but what exactly is being discussed is not specified.

Launches under the OneWeb program will also be carried out from the Baikonur and Vostochny cosmodromes. So, the first launch from Baikonur within the framework of the named project is planned to be carried out in the fourth quarter of this year, and the first launch from Vostochny - in the second quarter of 2020.
