Facebook fined in Roskomnadzor case

We are talking about the reluctance of the social network to comply with the requirements of Russian legislation regarding the personal data of Russian users. In accordance with current regulations, such information must be stored on servers in our country. Alas, Facebook has still not provided the necessary information about the localization of personal data bases of Russian users on the territory of the Russian Federation.

About a month and a half ago, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor) drew up a protocol on an administrative violation against Facebook. After this, the case was sent to court.

As it is now reported, the company was found guilty under Article 19.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (β€œFailure to provide information or information”). A fine was imposed on Facebook, although the amount is small - only 3000 rubles.

Let us add that a week ago the same decision was made regarding Twitter: the microblogging service is also in no hurry to transfer the personal data of Russians to servers in our country.
