Canalys has published its forecast for the global personal computer market for the current year: the industry is expected to be "in the red."

The published data includes shipments of desktop systems, laptops, and all-in-one all-in-one devices.

Last year, an estimated 261,0 million personal computers were sold globally. This year, demand is expected to fall by 0,5%, resulting in deliveries of 259,7 million units.

In the EMEA region (Europe, including Russia, the Middle East and Africa), demand is forecast to fall by 0,5%: shipments will decrease from 71,7 million units in 2018 to 71,4 million units in 2019.

In North America, shipments will decrease by 1,5%, from 70,8 million to 69,7 million units. In China, shipments will decrease by 1,7% - from 53,3 million to 52,4 million units.

At the same time, in the Asia-Pacific region, sales are expected to increase by 2,1%: here the volume of the PC market will be 45,3 million units against 44,4 million a year earlier. In Latin America, shipments will rise by 0,7%, reaching 20,9 million units (20,7 million in 2018).
