A study by the International Data Corporation (IDC) suggests that global monitor shipments are declining.

In the last quarter of 2018, 31,4 million computer monitors were sold worldwide. This is 2,1% less compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, when the market volume was estimated at 32,1 million units.

The largest supplier is Dell with a 21,6% share. In second place is HP, which took 2018% of the market in the fourth quarter of 14,6. Lenovo closes the top three with 12,7%.

It is noted that sales of curved monitors increased by 27,1% year on year: in the last quarter of 2018, such models accounted for 6,2% of total sales.


The PC monitor market is in decline

The most popular panels are 21,5 and 23,8 inches diagonally. The shares of these devices in the fourth quarter of 2018 amounted to 21,7% and 17,8%, respectively.

Monitors with built-in TV tuners accounted for only 3,0% of total sales. For comparison: in the last quarter of 2017, this figure was 4,8%.
