The coronavirus, which continues to spread across the planet, has made adjustments to the well-functioning operating patterns of many electronics supply channels. The pandemic has not spared the all-in-one desktop sector either.
According to Digitimes Research, in the first quarter of this year, the global all-in-one PC market collapsed by 29% quarter-on-quarter, to 2,14 million units. This is explained by the suspension of production of electronic components, disruption of logistics and a decrease in demand in the corporate segment.
All of the major players in the global all-in-one computer market have felt roughly the same impact from the coronavirus. Thus, demand for Lenovo all-in-one PCs fell by 35% quarter-on-quarter. Sales of HP and Apple devices decreased by 27-29% compared to the last quarter of 2019.
But already in the current quarter, a sharp increase in deliveries of all-in-one desktop computers is expected. Experts at Digitimes Research say shipments of such systems will jump more than 30% compared to the first quarter of the year.
The increase in supplies of all-in-one PCs will be facilitated by the resumption of work at βfrozenβ production facilities. In addition, the market is gradually adapting to new operating models. Finally, suppliers will be able to fulfill orders delayed in the first quarter.
