At the junction of Doom and Quake: furious skirmishes in the Prodeus shooter trailer

At the last PC Gaming Show 2020 event, Bounding Box Software and Humble Games released a new trailer for Prodeus, a first-person shooter that references classic Doom and Quake. The video shows dynamic shootouts using a variety of weapons, different types of enemies and arenas in which skirmishes take place.

At the beginning of the video, frames flash with locations and some opponents, for example, soldiers and energy creatures. In addition to them, in Prodeus you will have to face flying monsters that look like human brains, horned enemies with a bull's head, and rather large robots.

Battles in Prodeus take place in closed arenas, where you need to resist superior forces. To destroy enemies, the protagonist uses a wide variety of weapons: the arsenal includes both the usual submachine guns or a shotgun, and an energy gun that fires four charges in a row. Shots can be fired vertically and horizontally, so the weapon appears to operate in two modes. The trailer also showed a flamethrower, a rocket launcher and a machine gun.

Prodeus refers to the classic Doom and Quake not only with furious firefights: first-aid kits, ammunition and armor are scattered around the locations, and there are also platforms that throw the protagonist up. In addition, the creation of Bounding Box Software implements a pixel style, which also hints at id Software projects as sources of inspiration.
