The platform is the brainchild of DreamWorks Animation co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, who has held executive positions at eBay and Hewlett-Packard in the past. More than $1 billion has been invested in the production of content, and the process itself has attracted many movie stars.
At the start, the service is ready to offer users about 50 shows, which will be released in the format of short videos no longer than 10 minutes. Quibi developers claim that the service will release more than 25 episodes of different shows daily.
