The era of ultra-fast Wi-Fi 7 has begun - device certification has begun

The Wi-Fi Alliance has begun officially certifying devices that support Wi-Fi 7, the next-generation wireless network standard. Having a certificate means that devices can communicate with each other fully and according to protocol specifications. In 2024, official support for Wi-Fi 7 will appear on smartphones, laptops, routers and other equipment, offering significant speed improvements over Wi-Fi 6E. In its statement, the organization notes that Wi-Fi 7 performs better than current standards in applications such as high-bandwidth streaming and low-latency gaming - which is important in light of the growing popularity of virtual reality systems and more demanding work applications. There are already routers on the market that support Wi-Fi 7 - they were released, in particular, by Netgear, TP-Link and Eero. This equipment may not be certified, but its presence allows manufacturers to guarantee full compatibility with other devices.
