FreeBSD 13.1 Beta Started

The first beta release of FreeBSD 13.1 is ready. The FreeBSD 13.1-BETA1 release is available for the amd64, i386, powerpc, powerpc64, powerpc64le, powerpcspe, armv6, armv7, aarch64, and riscv64 architectures. Additionally prepared images for virtualization systems (QCOW2, VHD, VMDK, raw) and Amazon EC2 cloud environments.

Of the changes in the new version, the inclusion of the LLDB debugger assembly and the use of assembler optimizations for PowerPC architectures are noted. For the riscv64 and riscv64sf architectures, a build with the ASAN, UBSAN, OPENMP, and OFED libraries is enabled. A new driver for Intel wireless cards with support for new chips and the 802.11ac standard is proposed, based on the Linux driver and code from the net80211 Linux subsystem, whose operation in FreeBSD is provided using the linuxkpi layer.
