Started production of a mini-supercomputer on the Baikal CPU

The Russian company Hamster Robotics has finalized its HR-MPC-1 minicomputer on the domestic Baikal processor and launched its production in a series. After completion, it became possible to combine computers into high-performance heterogeneous clusters.

The release of the first serial batch is expected at the end of September 2020. The company does not indicate its volumes, counting on demand from customers at the level of 50-100 thousand units per year.

Computers are expected to go on sale in October-November 2020. The price for one mini-PC will be from $220 to $400, depending on the configuration. It will install Alt Linux by Basalt SPO.
