Scientists have completed initial analysis of soil samples from the 4,5-billion-year-old asteroid Bennu, which were collected and returned to Earth by the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) OSIRIS-REx probe. The results obtained indicate the presence of high carbon and water content in the samples. This means that the samples may contain elements necessary for the emergence of living organisms in the conditions of our planet - according to one theory, it was asteroids that brought life to Earth.
