NASA invites users to send their names to Mars

You may not have completed intensive astronaut training, but you still have a chance to participate in NASA's next Mars mission.

NASA invites users to send their names to Mars

The space agency has given everyone the opportunity to send their name imprinted on a microchip with NASA's Mars 2020 mission.

In addition to putting your name on a spaceship bound for Mars, you'll also rack up frequent flyer points and receive a souvenir boarding pass to show off to your friends.

The initiative is part of a campaign to raise awareness of NASA's program to send the Mars 2020 rover to the Red Planet to search for evidence of past habitation, collect samples, and study climate and geological processes.
