Open Education Projects Received $15M from XPRIZE Fund Named

The competition involved identifying five finalists, who would each receive a million dollars, as well as a grand prize winner, who would be paid an additional $10 million. Portability of projects to different hardware platforms (Google Pixel C tablets were used during testing) and localization into various languages ​​were also mentioned as criteria.

A total of 198 applications were received for the competition, from which 5 finalists were selected. At the time of summing up the results, it was decided to divide the main prize between two open projects - Kitkit и onebillion, the creators of which will receive $6 million. Million Dollar Awards highlighted projects CCI, Chimple и RoboTutor. All projects are developed for the Android platform.
