Don't forget to wash your hands: WhatsApp has added new stickers

WhatsApp has given its two billion users another reminder of the importance of staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic. The app has released a new set of "At Home Together" stickers as part of its effort to make the messaging service a vehicle for accurate and useful updates, not misinformation.

The update comes after Instagram launched the popular "Stay Home" sticker, also as part of a measure to support social distancing. In turn, Facebook and Messenger have added new "care" responses to give people an additional means of remotely supporting each other.

Facebook said earlier that its messaging apps have become more popular as more users are forced to stay at home. At the same time, the increased use of WhatsApp has forced the service to deploy more defenses against misinformation regarding the pandemic. WhatsApp has added stricter message forwarding controls and worked with external developers to create bots to provide timely health updates and dispel false rumors. Also on April 7, WhatsApp released official address about COVID-19.
