A bit more expensive than Coffee Lake Refresh: European prices for some Comet Lake-S revealed

Rumors and leaks about the upcoming tenth generation Intel desktop processors, also known as Comet Lake-S, are becoming more and more. This time around, some of the new processors have been spotted in the range of Czech and Slovak stores, so we can compare their prices with those of their predecessors.

Just one Slovak store added ten Comet Lake-S processors to its range, ranging from entry-level dual-core Pentiums to mid-range six-core Core i5s. But the older eight-core Core i7 and the flagship ten-core Core i9 were not here for some reason. In any case, so far there are no Comet Lake-S processors in stores.

Therefore, for now, let's pay attention only to the price of new products, which in Slovakia ranged from 80 to 279 euros. The vast majority of processors cost, if not much, but more expensive than their predecessors in the same store. Most strongly, by 15 euros, the Core i5-10600 has risen in price compared to the Core i5-9600. But the Core i5-10400, on the contrary, became 14 euros cheaper than the Core i5-9400 processor.

In the Czech Republic, only the Core i5-10600 was found, however, in two stores with price tags of 6540 and 6685 local crowns. Rounded up, it's about $285 or 18 rubles. Unfortunately, we cannot compare here with the prices of the current Core i500-5, since we were unable to determine in which stores the processors were found. We only note that the prices roughly correspond to the price level of the current Coffee Lake Refresh chips.
