NeoChat 1.0, KDE client for the Matrix network

NeoChat 1.0, KDE client for the Matrix network

Matrix is an open standard for interoperable, decentralized, real-time communications over IP. It can be used for instant messaging, voice or video over VoIP/WebRTC, or anywhere you need a standard HTTP API to publish and subscribe to data while tracking your conversation history.

NeoChat is a cross-platform Matrix client for KDE that runs on PCs and mobile phones. NeoChat uses the Kirigami framework and QML to render the interface.

NeoChat provides all the basic features of a modern messenger: in addition to the usual sending of messages, you can invite users to group chats, create private chats, and search for public group chats.

Some group chat management features are also available: you can kick or block users, upload a chat avatar and edit its description.

NeoChat also includes a basic image editor that lets you crop and rotate images before sending them. The image editor is implemented using KQuickImageEditor.
