Boring correspondence: the Gboard keyboard has got a panel for emoticons

Google has added a new feature to its Gboard Android keyboard for those who love emoji. To access the most frequently used emoticons, a whole new panel has been added - Emoji Bar, where users will find their favorite emoticons.

Of course, if the function is not very useful, or the virtual keyboard takes up too much space, this panel can be hidden or reset. It looks like Google is gradually rolling out the feature to users, so it might not be available to everyone right now, but that's just a matter of the coming days.

Interestingly, Google removed the classic search button in the Messages app, replacing it with a full-fledged bar at the top of the screen (this change is also unfolding gradually). Previously, Google made similar changes to a number of its core apps like Gmail, Drive, and others, but there are still a few apps that use the old style.

Recall: in April, Google removed the search button from GBoard, removing even the ability to display it from the settings. This button brought up a quick preview of the search results for the currently typed term. The same functionality can be called up in the list of tools through the menu by clicking on the three dots and selecting the search bar.
