Huawei is set to open three retail stores in the UK despite the government banning its equipment and technology from the country's 5G network.

Despite sanctions, Huawei will still open three stores in the UK

The Chinese telecommunications company has said it will open its first UK store of its own at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford in October 2020. After that, the company plans to open a store with a customer service point in Manchester in February 2021. Another Huawei retail location in the UK will open in early 2021, though no location has been revealed yet.

Huawei said in a press release that its new stores, which will be funded by $12,5 million, will create more than 100 new jobs in London and Manchester.

On July 14, the UK government announced a ban on the purchase of Huawei equipment for 5G networks from the beginning of next year to telecommunications companies. British firms have also announced the need to remove all Huawei 5G equipment from the country's networks by 2027. The British government does not hide the fact that this decision was made under pressure from Washington, which had previously announced a ban on the supply of components manufactured using American technology to Huawei.
