Netflix has released the first trailer for The Witcher. Judging by the two-minute video, there will be several massive battles in it. The authors also showed magic and young Yennefer.
The day before the teaser was released, series showrunner Lauren Hissrich gave Entertainment Weekly, in which she spoke about her approach to the film adaptation. She noted that she focused primarily on the books of Andrzej Sapkowski, and not the game. Hissrich said that unlike the books, where Geralt is silent, in the series he will talk a lot. She argued this by the fact that a different approach is impossible with the film adaptation.
The showrunner also emphasized that The Witcher is a series for adults, but violence and sex should be an integral part of the storyline, and not just take up airtime.
The first season of the show will consist of eight episodes. Starring Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Adam Levy, Jodhi May and others. The exact date of the premiere has not yet been disclosed.
This is the second series based on The Witcher series of novels. In 2001, a Polish series was released on Telewizja Polska, consisting of 13 episodes. He 6,6 points on Kinopoisk.
