Like all representatives of the Galaxy Xcover family, the novelty is characterized by increased protection from the effects of the external environment and falls. The Galaxy Xcover Pro is IP68 rated for water and dust ingress protection and also meets the MIL-STD-810 military standard for shock and vibration resistance. At the same time, the smartphone is equipped with a removable battery. This option has been missing from Galaxy Xcover devices for at least the last couple of years. The battery capacity is 4050 mAh, and support for 15 W fast charging is also reported.

Like other Xcover phones, the Galaxy Xcover Pro has two programmable buttons (one on the left side of the case, one on top) in addition to volume and power buttons. The power button also serves as a fingerprint reader.

Unlike other recent Galaxy smartphones, the Xcover Pro runs Android Pie, which can be upgraded to Android 10 in the future.

According to the resource WinFuture, the implementation of new items in other European countries will begin in February.
