Like supposed to, Sony Interactive Entertainment will show a new edition of its State of Play newscast this week, however, in terms of content, the episode will noticeably yield to the June presentation of The Future of Gaming.

Broadcast begins August 6 at 23:00 pm BST on official PlayStation channels in services YouTube ΠΈ Twitch, and the timing of the new State of Play will be a record 40 minutes for the show.

"Be warned, you won't hear any news from PlayStation Studios on Thursday. We do not plan to share details about [PS5], initiatives, pre-order details, or announce new release dates,” the organizers said.

What the Japanese company is about to share in the August issue of State of Play is "some news" about third-party and indie games announced at The Future of Gaming for the PlayStation 5.

In addition, the show is expected to show projects for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR, but also only from third-party studios. The demos will contain new gameplay footage.

The list of participants in the upcoming State of Play is currently unknown, however, according to information in PlayStation Japan Blog, as part of the broadcast, a new screening of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will take place.

At its August event, Sony Interactive Entertainment was previously speculated to present major PS5 exclusives from third-party developers, including a reimagining of the horror series Silent Hill.
