Nikkei: German chipmaker Infineon suspends shipments to Huawei

Citing two people familiar with the matter, the Nikkei said that Infineon's decision to cut off supplies came after the Trump administration formally announced about adding Huawei to the commercial black list. The related restrictions will make it much more difficult for the Chinese telecommunications firm to continue doing business with US companies.

Infineon will meet this week to discuss the situation, Nikkei said, adding that it is not yet clear if Infineon will resume business relations with Huawei after the legal issues are cleared up.

According to the Japanese resource, Huawei's annual sales of Infineon products are estimated at $100 million.
