Nintendo has no plans to introduce new Switch versions at E3 2019

Recently there have been rumors that Nintendo is preparing several new versions of its Switch game console, and their announcement may take place as early as mid-June at the largest gaming exhibition E3. However, it has now emerged that these speculations have nothing to do with Nintendo's actual plans.

At Nintendo's recent financial briefing, CEO Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that no new Nintendo hardware will be announced at this year's E3. This is reported by Reuters correspondent Sam Nussey (Sam Nussey).

At the same time, the head of Nintendo said that the company is constantly developing various new equipment, just that it is not yet ready to present any new items. So if new announcements take place in the foreseeable future, then it will happen sometime after E3.

Note that Bloomberg recently reported that the more affordable Nintendo Switch Lite console will be released at the end of June. However, in light of the above statements by Nintendo's CEO, such a development seems unlikely. It is also noted that sometime this year an updated version of the regular Nintendo Switch will be released, but according to Bloomberg, you should not count on the appearance of a more powerful version.

In the end, I would like to note that for the current fiscal year, Nintendo plans to sell 18 million Switch consoles. In its last fiscal year, which ended in March, the company sold 16,95 million units of its console. Nintendo also plans to increase sales of Switch games from 118,55 million to 125 million in a year.
