A new release of the NixOS distribution has been released. NixOS features a "feature-free" Nix package manager, as well as its own single configuration system.
Some changes:
- The default Python 3 interpreter is now CPython 3.7;
- added Pantheon desktop environment developed by developers elementary OS;
- the Kubernetes module has undergone a massive refactoring;
- added 35 new modules;
- support for nodejs version 6 has been discontinued;
- Wayland composer Sway updated to version 1.0;
- shell fish updated to version 3.0.
Ready-made installation images are provided in a version with the KDE Plasma 5 desktop environment and in a lightweight console version (without a pre-installed desktop environment). Images for VirtualBox, Amazon EC2, and Microsoft Azure are also available.
