The NixOS project has announced the release of NixOS 20.03, the latest stable version of its self-developed distribution. Linux, a project with a unique approach to package and configuration management, and its own package manager called "Nix".
Innovations:
- Support is planned until the end of October 2020.
- Kernel version changes – GCC 9.2.0, glibc 2.30, kernelLinux 5.4, Mesa 19.3.3, OpenSSL 1.1.1d.
- Desktop version changes - KDE Plasma 5.17.5.
- KDE 19.12.3, GNOME 3.34, Pantheon 5.1.3.
- CoreLinux updated to default branch 5.4.
- PostgreSQL 11 is now the default.
- The graphical installer image now automatically starts a graphical session. Previously, the user was greeted with an open terminal prompting them to enter systemctl start display-manager.
- You can disable display-manager from starting by selecting "Disable display-manager" from the boot menu.
