
Nobara 40 is a new version of the distribution Linux, based on Fedora and designed for gamers and content creators.
Main innovations:
- Completely redesigned update app: Instead of the old bash script, we now use a modern GUI Python application integrated with the Nobara package manager.
- KDE and GNOME updates: The latest versions of these desktop environments are included - KDE 6.1 and GNOME 46.
- Improved driver support: Includes the latest NVIDIA drivers and updated Mesa Vulkan drivers to ensure stable performance on a variety of hardware configurations.
- Improved game support: Includes improved integration with the Steam platform and Gamescope support, especially useful for devices like Steam Deck.
- OBS Studio Updates: New features for content creators such as the Media Playlist Source plugin and improved support for HDR capture.
- New driver management app: Nobara Driver Manager makes it easy to manage third-party drivers for gaming and professional workstations.
- Core Linux 6.8: Includes patches to improve performance on various devices such as Surface tablets and MacBooks with T2.
- Return of Firefox and LibreOffice: These applications have again become standard for web surfing and working with documents.
Nobara 40 is available in five flavors, including the official version with a custom KDE theme, vanilla GNOME and KDE versions, and specialized versions for HTPC and portable devices, styled like Steam Deck.
