Marcel Kaiser announced the release of a new version of NomadBSD, a FreeBSD-based desktop operating system with the Openbox window manager, 1.3. This version is based on FreeBSD 12.1.
The new version includes:
- Unionfs-fuse as an alternative to FreeBSD's Unionfs (caused by locking issues).
- An MBR partition table that replaced GPT to prevent problems with Lenovo systems that refuse to boot from GPT if the 'lenovofix' flag is not set, or hang on boot if 'lenovofix' is set.
- Support for installing on ZFS has been added to the NomadBSD installer.
- Fixed and improved rc script for configuring network interfaces.
- Setting the country code for the WLAN device, automatically configuring to run in VirtualBox, checking the default display in the graphics configuration script.
- 440th version of the NVIDIA driver.
