Android Q's new feature will save battery life

Google is gradually transferring the best features from popular launchers to the main code of the Android operating system. This time in the fourth beta version of Android Q, a feature called Screen Attention was discovered. This innovation allows you to save battery power on smartphones. The bottom line is that the system tracks the direction of the user's gaze using the front camera. If he does not look at the screen for a certain time, the system extinguishes it, saving battery power.

In this case, the device will not save and transfer the user's photo to Google servers. So you don't have to worry about security. Of course, provided that there are no bugs in the firmware itself. In this case, the Screen Attention function will be activated forcibly, which means that it can be turned off if necessary.

All this will make life easier for users. On the one hand, they will not need to press the button again to turn on the screen. On the other hand, the display will not waste energy in vain. Note that in the previous, third beta version of Android, you could find a label called "Adaptive sleep". In the current assembly, the new option is accompanied by animation and, most likely, it will go into release in this form.

We also recall that earlier Google temporarily suspended distribution of the fourth beta version of Android Q, because this build caused a problem on Pixel smartphones. Smartphones after installation went into a cyclic reboot.
