Renowned game designer Takashi Iizuka has confirmed that work is already in full swing on the next major game in the never-ending Sonic the Hedgehog adventure series.
However, speaking at the SXSW Sonic panel this weekend, the developers from Team Sonic sought to moderate the expectations of the public - obviously, until 2020 we are unlikely to see anything concrete regarding the next Sonic game. The team said only that they would be happy to share the news in the future, but now thanks for the patience.
The event also featured a new trailer for the upcoming Team Sonic Racing arcade game, which is slated to release on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 21st. The teaser offered a look at the new options for customizing the appearance of the hero and a little bit of the game itself in action. You can customize almost everything about the vehicle, from handling and protection to acceleration and coloring - even the sound.
But that's not all. While the presentation didn't reveal much about the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, the attendees revealed some details regarding the series of animated featurettes that will accompany the game's launch. Fortunately, this is not as strange a sight as we were shown in December.
