The proprietary browser Vivaldi 7.2, developed on the Chromium engine by former Opera Presto engine developers, has been released. Vivaldi builds are prepared for Linux, Windows и macOSThe project distributes changes made to the Chromium codebase under an open source license. The browser interface is written in JavaScript using the React library, Node.js, Browserify, and various ready-made NPM modules. The interface implementation is available in source code, but under a proprietary license.
The project aims to create a customizable and functional browser that preserves the privacy of user data. The main functions include a tracking and advertising blocker, note, history and bookmark managers, private browsing mode, end-to-end encrypted synchronization, tab grouping mode, sidebar, configurator with a large number of settings, horizontal tab display mode, and a built-in mail client, RSS reader and calendar in test mode.
The new version includes the following improvements:
- The address bar drop-down list has been completely redesigned, including search queries, bookmarks, previously entered addresses, and other data.

- Optimized processing of search queries domains, which allowed us to significantly increase the page loading speed.
- A section for workspaces has been added to the keyboard shortcut settings, allowing you to assign keyboard shortcuts for actions with spaces.
- The keyboard settings now include a command priority list that allows the browser to save specified key combinations even if a site might try to use them.

- The built-in mail client now supports creating a task or calendar event from a received message directly from the context menu. An option for manually sorting mail accounts in the list has been added.
