The new version of Microsoft Egde was taught to work with PWA

Microsoft recently released a Canary build of the Chromium-based Egde browser. And one of the innovations was the support for PWA - progressive web applications. In other words, using the new version of the browser, you can now right-click on the PWA shortcut and go directly to the various functions of the application.

This feature in the browser is still experimental, so it needs to be activated manually. To do this, go to the edge://flags flags page, find the Jump list function there and activate it.

After enabling it, you need to restart the browser and open any program in PWA format, for example, the Twitter client. Then you can right-click on its icon in the taskbar and see the latest activity with the application.

This feature can be useful for those users who regularly use PWA. It is currently available for Edge Canary. When it should be expected on the Dev channel is still unclear.

Meanwhile, the company implicitly released Microsoft Egde based on Chromium for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems. It is alleged that this assembly functionally repeats the version for the β€œtens” and differs little from it. So far, there is also only an option only on the Canary channel. It is not clear when to wait for the development assembly and, moreover, the beta. And the release will probably appear only before the end of this year.
