New versions of OpenWrt 19.07.9 and 21.02.2

Updates to the OpenWrt distribution 19.07.9 and 21.02.2 have been published, aimed at use in various network devices such as routers, switches and access points. OpenWrt supports many different platforms and architectures and has an assembly system that allows cross-compilation to be carried out simply and conveniently, including various components in the assembly, which makes it easy to create ready-made firmware or a disk image with the desired set of pre-installed packages adapted for specific tasks. Assemblies are generated for 36 target platforms.

Main changes in OpenWrt 21.02.0:

  • Added support for Xiaomi AIoT Router AC2350, Linksys EA6300, Linksys EA9200, Netgear RAXE500 and TP-Link TL-WA1201 v2 devices.
  • The rpcapd package has been added to the package with the implementation of the RPCAP (Remote Packet Capture) protocol for organizing the capture of packets from external devices.
  • Wi-fi 80211 GHz support has been moved to the mac6 wireless stack.
  • Added ath10k-ct-smallbuffers driver.
  • The Linux kernel has been updated to release 5.4.179.
  • Updated package versions wolfssl 5.1.1, wireless-regdb 2021.08.28, mt76 2021-12-03, busybox 1.33.2, linux-firmware 20211216, openssl 1.1.1m, mbedtls 2.16.12.
