The launch of the fourth satellite of the Resurs-P family is tentatively scheduled for the end of next year. It is reported by TASS with reference to the statements of the management of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (RKC).
The Resurs-P devices are designed for highly detailed, detailed wide-angle and hyperspectral optical-electronic observation of the surface of our planet. In other words, these satellites are used for Earth remote sensing (ERS).
The Resource-P apparatus No. 1 was launched into orbit back in June 2013. In December 2014, the Resource-P apparatus No. 2 was successfully launched. The third apparatus of the series went into orbit in March 2016.
At the end of last year
The launch of Resurs-P No. 4 and Resurs-P No. 5 satellites is scheduled for the coming years. As mentioned above, the fourth apparatus of the series will go into space at the end of 2020. This satellite will receive improved on-board electronics: in particular, the data transfer rate will double compared to previous devices, in addition, the possibilities in terms of shooting the earth's surface will expand.
