Microsoft company expanded coverage of its Chromium-based Edge browser to Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users. The developers have released preliminary builds of Canary for these OSes. Allegedly, the new products received almost the same functionality as the version for Windows 10, including compatibility mode with Internet Explorer. The latter should be of interest to business users who need to work with web pages laid out according to old standards.

However, the arrival of Edge with support for Internet Explorer will finally allow disparate browsers to be united into one product.
