New Microsoft Edge changes theme with Windows

Fashion for dark themes in various programs, including browsers, continues to gain momentum. Earlier it became known that such a theme appeared in the Edge browser, but then it had to be turned on forcibly using flags. Now you don't need to do this.

New Microsoft Edge changes theme with Windows

In the latest build of Microsoft Edge Canary 76.0.160.0 added function similar to Chrome 74. We are talking about automatic switching of design themes, depending on which one is installed in Windows in the β€œPersonalization” section.

In addition to a purely visual improvement, the assembly received a spell checker in the language that is installed by default in the operating system. In addition, PWA web applications can now be installed directly from the address bar, and when launching Flash content, a message is displayed that support for the technology ends in December 2020. The latest version of the Edge Canary browser can be downloaded here. This assembly is updated daily and is a test build, so errors and crashes are possible in it.

At the same time, we recall that it was previously reported that Chrome developers began copy Edge design elements. So far, this is only in the Canary branch, but in the future, similar innovations will appear in the release version.

Thus, the company from Redmond is trying to increase the share of its browser in the market. It remains to wait for the release of a full-fledged assembly, which is promised before the end of this year, in order to assess how Microsoft managed to surprise users.
