In a press release, the studio noted: “COVID-19 has impacted the Larian team, which includes many people around the world. However, the transition to working from home has fortunately been successful, allowing Larian to continue working on the project and move towards the start of the early access period, which will begin (possibly!) by August. We'll share more information in the future about the specific content coming to Early Access, but the team is committed to working directly with community feedback and evolving the game during Early Access."

The developers have been working on Baldur's Gate III for almost four years, although the project was announced a year ago. The game takes place 100 years after the events of Baldur's Gate II. Since the PAX demo, the team has revised the narrative, the impact of player choices has become much more significant, visual improvements have been made, the combat system has been refined, and the user interface continues to evolve.

Larian Studios is staffed by the experts behind the Divinity: Original Sin series, which is a deep, rich, choice-driven RPG that includes challenging combat situations. This gives hope that Baldur's Gate III is in good hands, and the early build clips featured in the trailer provide a closer look at the anticipated role-playing game. Although the video itself is short and based on cinematic moments. The studio promises that on June 18, 2020 at the official broadcast D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage will share details about the game.
