After eight months of development, the release of the strategic (RTS) game Warzone 2100 4.3 has been published. The game was originally developed by Pumpkin Studios and released to the market in 1999. In 2004, the source texts were opened under the GPLv2 license and development of the game continued with the efforts of the community. Both a single player game against bots and multiplayer games are supported. Packages are prepared for Ubuntu, Windows and macOS.
Among the changes in the new version:
- Implemented a new campaign mode - "Super Easy".
- Added support for texture compression.
- New music track Aftermath proposed.
- Improved rendering engines.
- Added a new option LOD Distance to adjust the sharpness of textures depending on the distance.
- Added new video modes for minimizing when losing focus and toggling with Alt+Enter.
- For Linux, the preparation of packages in the Flatpak format has begun.
- Improved AI engine.
- A more balanced multiplayer game is provided.
