New malware attacks Apple computers

Doctor Web warns that owners of Apple computers running the macOS operating system are threatened by a new malware.

The malware was named Mac.BackDoor.Siggen.20. It allows attackers to download and execute arbitrary Python code on the victim's device.

The malware infiltrates Apple computers through websites owned by cybercriminals. For example, one of these resources is disguised as a page with the WhatsApp application.

Curiously, these sites also spread the BackDoor.Wirenet.517 spyware Trojan, which infects computers based on Windows operating systems. This malware allows you to remotely control the victim's device, including using the camera and microphone.

When visiting malicious web resources, the embedded code detects the user's operating system and, depending on it, loads a backdoor or a Trojan module, Doctor Web notes.

It should be added that attackers disguise malicious sites not only as pages of popular applications. So, resources have already been discovered that are designed as business card sites with a portfolio of non-existent people.
