Tamron's new zoom lens targets full-frame DSLRs

Tamron has announced the 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD zoom lens (Model A043) designed for full-frame digital SLR cameras.

The design of the novelty provides for the presence of 19 elements in 14 groups. Chromatic aberrations and other imperfections that can reduce and degrade resolution are fully controlled by an optical system that combines three LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements with three aspherical lenses.

The surface of the front lens is coated with a protective fluorine compound, which has good water and oil repellency. At the same time, the device itself boasts a moisture-resistant design.

The novelty uses silent autofocus, driven by OSD (Optimized Silent Drive) direct current motor. The VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization system is implemented, the efficiency of which reaches five exposure levels in accordance with CIPA standards.

Focal length is 35–150 mm; the minimum focusing distance is 0,45 meters over the entire range of focal lengths. The maximum aperture is f/2,8-4, the minimum aperture is f/16-22.

The lens will be offered in versions for Canon EF and Nikon F bayonet mounts. In the first case, the dimensions are 84 Γ— 126,8 mm (diameter Γ— length), in the second - 84 Γ— 124,3 mm. Weight - about 800 grams.

The novelty is well suited for portrait photography. Estimated price - 800 US dollars.
