It has been known for quite some time that NVIDIA is preparing a new GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card, and its release could take place as early as next week, according to the latest rumors. Therefore, it is not surprising that more and more details about the upcoming new product appear on the Web, and the VideoCardz resource has collected another batch of rumors and leaks about the GeForce GTX 1660 Super.
Recently, images of video cards were published thanks to which it turned out that the new product will differ from the regular version without the Super prefix in the name by GDDR6 memory. More precisely, the novelty will receive 6 GB of GDDR6 memory with an effective frequency of 14 GHz. And now this information has been confirmed.
It was also confirmed that the GPU configuration will not change: the GeForce GTX 1660 Super will be built on the Turing TU116 GPU with 1408 CUDA cores. The clock frequencies of the novelty, which will be 1530/1785 MHz, will not change either. It turns out that the only difference between the Super version and the regular one will be faster video memory, which, of course, will have a positive effect on performance, but still I would like something more.
Finally, MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Ventus and Inno3D GTX 1660 Super Twin X2 video cards were found in the assortment of one of the European online stores. The cost of new products including VAT amounted to 306 and 270 euros, respectively. This is quite a lot for video cards of the middle price segment. For about the same 300 euros in this store you can buy a more advanced GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, while the regular GeForce GTX 1660 is sold here for about 250 euros.
