The list of G-Sync Compatible monitors has been expanded by two models from ASUS. ASUS VG278QR and VG258 displays are relatively budget gaming monitors with Full HD resolution (1920 Γ— 1080 pixels) and refresh rates of 165 and 144 Hz, respectively.

In addition, now G-Sync synchronization can be activated not only on one, but also on three monitors connected to the system in an NVIDIA Surround bundle, if they, of course, belong to the G-Sync Compatible category. However, NVIDIA has introduced a number of restrictions. Firstly, the ability to use G-Sync on multiple monitors at once will only be available to owners of graphics cards on GPU Turing. Secondly, all monitors must be connected to DisplayPort connectors. And most importantly, these should be the same monitors, that is, not just one manufacturer, but one model.

Recall that G-Sync Compatible are monitors with adaptive frame synchronization technology (Adaptive-Sync or AMD FreeSync) that have been tested by NVIDIA to meet the standards of its proprietary G-Sync synchronization technology. In other words, on these FreeSync monitors, NVIDIA guarantees full compatibility with its G-Sync technology through drivers. At the time of the launch of the G-Sync Compatible initiative, NVIDIA selected only 12 models, but now there are already 17 monitors on the list.
