Dutch semiconductor supplier NXP Semiconductors announced on Wednesday it would buy Marvell Technology Group's wireless business to expand its portfolio. The estimated value of the deal is $1,76 billion.
NXP will offer Marvell wireless products such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipsets along with its advanced computing platforms to customers in the industrial, automotive and communications industries.
The Marvell division that is the subject of the deal was $2019 million in fiscal 300 and NXP expects it to double by 2022.
