Owners of Android devices will be able to make purchases on Google Play for cash

Google will allow users to pay for purchases in the Play Store with cash. The new feature is currently being tested in Mexico and Japan, and should roll out to other emerging market regions at a later date. The mentioned payment option is called "deferred transaction" and is a new class of deferred forms of payment.

Owners of Android devices will be able to make purchases on Google Play for cash

The feature, which is currently available to users in Mexico and Japan, allows you to purchase paid content by paying for it at one of our local partner stores. Representatives of the company say that in the future such an opportunity will be available to users in other developing countries.

By applying the "deferred transaction" function, the user receives a special code that must be presented to the cashier in the store. After that, the application is paid for in cash, and the buyer receives a notification by e-mail. Google representatives say that payments usually go through within 10 minutes, but it is possible that this process can take up to 48 hours. It is also noted that transactions paid under the new scheme cannot be canceled, so on the way to the store, the user should consider whether he needs this or that application.

The reason why Google decided to launch a new way to pay for content is that emerging markets represent a strong growth area for developers. The company expects that this approach will expand the user audience that makes purchases of applications in the Play Store. Cash transactions continue to be a priority in regions where a small part of the population has access to bank cards.
