Debian 11.5 and 10.13 update

The fifth corrective update of the Debian 11 distribution has been published, which includes accumulated package updates and fixes bugs in the installer. The release includes 58 updates to fix stability issues and 53 updates to fix vulnerabilities.

Among the changes in Debian 11.5 we can note: The clamav, grub2, grub-efi-*-signed, mokutil, nvidia-graphics-drivers*, nvidia-settings packages have been updated to the latest stable versions. Added package cargo-mozilla to support building new versions of firefox-esr and thunderbird. The krb5 package uses the SHA256 algorithm as Pkinit CMS Digest. systemd adds support for defining ARM64 Hyper-V guests and OpenStack environments in KVM on ARM systems. Removed 22 packages with PHP libraries (including php-embed, php-markdown, php-react-http, ratchetphp, reactphp-*), which were left unmaintained and used only in the previously deleted package movim (a platform for creating decentralized social networks, using the XMPP protocol).

For downloading and installing from scratch, installation assemblies have been prepared, as well as a live iso-hybrid with Debian 11.5. Previously installed systems that are kept up to date receive the updates included in Debian 11.5 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are made available to users as updates are released through security.debian.org.

At the same time, a new release of the previous stable branch of Debian 10.13 β€œBuster” is available, which includes 79 updates with stability issues and 79 updates with vulnerabilities. This is the final update to the Debian 10 branch, which has reached the end of its regular maintenance period. Further development of updates for the Debian 10 branch will not be carried out by the Debian Security Team and Debian Release Team, but by a separate group of developers, the LTS Team, created from enthusiasts and representatives of companies interested in the long-term delivery of updates for Debian. As part of the LTS cycle, updates for Debian 10 will be released until June 30, 2024 and will only apply to i386, amd64, armel, armhf and arm64 architectures.
