Firefox 80.0.1 update. Testing the new address bar design

Published Corrective release of Firefox 80.0.1, which fixes the following issues:

  • Eliminated a performance issue that surfaced in Firefox 80 when processing new intermediate CA certificates.
  • Eliminated GPU reset related crashes.
  • Resolved problems with text rendering on some sites using WebGL (for example, the problem manifests itself in Yandex Maps).
  • Fixed issues with the downloads.download() API leading to cookie loss.

Additionally announced about appearing in nightly builds of Firefox second edition new design of the address bar. The address bar now has the ability to quickly switch to another search engine - the list of icons of available search engines is now displayed at the bottom of the window even before the start of typing a query, and the active search engine is shown in front of the input field. In addition, the user is given the opportunity to define arbitrary aliases for accessing search engines.
