Firefox 88.0.1 update fixes critical vulnerability

A correction release of Firefox 88.0.1 is available, offering several fixes:

  • Fixed two vulnerabilities, one of which is classified as critical (CVE-2021-29953). This problem allows you to execute JavaScript code in the context of a different domain, i.e. allows you to implement a kind of universal method of cross-site scripting. The second vulnerability (CVE-2021-29952) is caused by a race condition in Web Render components and could potentially be exploited to execute malicious code.
  • Fixed issues when using the Widevine plugin to play protected content (DRM).
  • We fixed an issue resulting in video corruption when playing from Twitter or WebRTC calls on Intel systems with Gen6 GPUs.
  • Fixed a bug that caused unreadable menu items in the settings section when High Contrast Mode was enabled.
