VirtualBox 7.2.4 Update Released with Vulnerability Fixes

Oracle has released a patch release of its VirtualBox 7.2.4 virtualization system, which addresses eight vulnerabilities, the details of which have not yet been disclosed. The release only states that the most serious issue has a severity rating of 8.2 out of 10. In addition to the vulnerabilities, the new version introduces six changes:

  • The Linux Guest and Host Additions now provide initial support for the Linux kernel 6.18.
  • The Linux Guest Additions have been updated to support kernel packages from RHEL 9.6 and 9.7.
  • The Windows Guest Additions have been updated to address issues that may occur when installed in a Windows XP SP2 guest environment.
  • Manager crash fixed virtual machines when the host environment returns from sleep mode.
  • Fixed issues in the address translator that occurred when using multiple port forwarding rules.
