Updated NVIDIA Turing "Super" graphics cards get recommended prices

According to unofficial information, tomorrow NVIDIA may present an updated family of video cards with the Turing architecture, which will receive faster memory, the “Super” suffix in the designation of models, and most importantly, a more attractive combination of price and performance. As a rule, in each price range, the GPU in the Super series will be borrowed from the older graphics card of the previous family, and the number of active CUDA cores will be increased, directly affecting the performance level.

Updated NVIDIA Turing "Super" graphics cards get recommended prices

Resource WCCFTech on the eve of the expected first phase of the announcement, announced prices for three graphics solutions of the new line, which will be offered in parallel with Turing's "first wave" video cards. The GeForce RTX 2080 Super will be priced at $799, which will force the "regular" GeForce RTX 2080 to lose value for further peaceful coexistence. The GeForce RTX 2070 Super will also receive a price tag identical to the price of the GeForce RTX 2070 at the time of the announcement - $599. Finally, the GeForce RTX 2060 Super will not follow this pricing algorithm, the video card is priced at $429, while the “regular” GeForce RTX 2060 cost $349 at the time of its debut. However, in the latter case, the price increase is offset not only by the appearance of 2176 CUDA cores instead of the previous 1920 pieces, but also by an increase in the amount of GDDR6 memory from 6 to 8 GB.

  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: 4352 CUDA cores, TU102-300 GPU, 11 GB GDDR6 memory @ 14 GHz;
  • GeForce RTX 2080 Super: 3072 cores CUDA, GPU TU104-450 and 8 GB memory GDDR6 @ 16 GHz;
  • GeForce RTX 2080: 2944 CUDA cores, TU104-410 GPU and 8 GB GDDR6 memory @ 14 GHz;
  • GeForce RTX 2070 Super: 2560 cores CUDA, GPU TU104-410 and 8 GB memory GDDR6 @ 14 GHz;
  • GeForce RTX 2070: 2304 CUDA cores, TU106-410 GPU and 8 GB GDDR6 memory @ 14 GHz;
  • GeForce RTX 2060 Super: 2176 cores CUDA, GPU TU106-410 and 8 GB memory GDDR6 @ 14 GHz;
  • GeForce RTX 2060: 1920 CUDA cores, TU106-200 GPU, and 6 GB of 6 GHz GDDR14 memory.

The list above shows how the range of NVIDIA Turing graphics cards will change after the release of updated graphics solutions. Prices for existing products in this family will be reduced. New members of the family will appear on sale in the second half of July. The reforms will not affect the flagship GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, it “hovers above the hustle and bustle in another echelon,” and the release of the AMD Radeon RX 5700 family of video cards does not threaten its well-being in any way. The only thing that can be mentioned in this context is that the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti will share a GPU with the GeForce RTX 2080 Super, which will go under the designation “TU104-450” for the purposes of disguise.
