Resistance will offer asymmetrical multiplayer, in which one player will set traps and summon monsters in a location, and a team of four will try to solve puzzles and destroy enemies in order to escape from the level within the allotted time. The plot of this game is in no way connected with the numbered parts of the series. According to Capcom, it is "a spin-off that is not part of the main Resident Evil canon story."
