Firefox Relay Anonymous Email Service Public Testing

Mozilla provided the opportunity to test the service firefox relay For everyone. If earlier access to Firefox Relay could only be obtained by invitation, now it is available to any user through an account in Firefox Account. Firefox Relay allows you to generate temporary email addresses for registering on sites so as not to advertise your real address. In total, you can generate up to 5 unique anonymous aliases, letters to which will be redirected to the user's real address.

The generated email can be used to log into sites or for subscriptions. For a certain site, you can generate a separate alias and in case of spam, it will become clear which resource is the source of the leak. If the site is hacked or the user base is compromised, attackers will not be able to associate the email specified during registration with the user's actual email address. At any time, you can deactivate the received email and not receive more messages through it.

To simplify the work with the service, it is additionally offered addition, which, in the case of an email request in a web form, offers a button to generate a new email alias.

Additional mention may be made emergence of information about the reduction of Kelly Davis, head of the machine learning technology group at Mozilla (Machine Learning Group) and developing speech recognition and synthesis projects (deepspeech, Common Voice, Mozilla TTS). It is noted that these projects will most likely remain available for joint development on GitHub, but Mozilla will no longer invest resources in their development.
